"Kitty Finds a Frog" 2026 Solo Exhibition

I'm excited to announce the upcoming solo exhibition showcasing a series of illustrations I created from 2024-2025. These illustrations originate from a children's book I wrote titled "Kitty Finds a Frog." The story is about a young girl named Kitty who has a bad day, so her older brother, Eli, takes her to a local wildlife preserve called "The Schuylkill Center," to catch tadpoles. The Schuylkill Center is based off of a real place in Philadelphia called "The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education." I based much of this book off my own experiences as a kid growing up in Philadelphia, and spending time in areas like the The Schuylkill Center or Wissahickon creek. Besides telling a story, the book is also educational, teaching young audiences about frogs, toads, and other amphibians. There will be a total of 28 illustrations in the exhibition, including excerpts from the text alongside each piece.

I will be exhibiting my work at The Plastic Club, a gallery located in Center City in the Gayborhood. The Plastic Club is an art club and gallery founded in 1897 by a group of professional women artists. I was interested in exhibiting at the club because of their history with women artists, specifically Jessie Wilcox Smith, an illustrator who has inspired some of my work, including the illustrations for this book.

All of my illustrations will be for sale, as well as merchandise, such as prints and other items. Please bring cash or check only. Refreshments will also be provided. If you have any questions email me at chloe.epstein21@gmail.com.

Hope to see you there!
